The Savage 101 was made from 1960 to about 1969. They sold new for around $20. Today, in excellent shape, you'll see gunshow prices as high as $200, and some on-line asking prices even higher. A more realistic price -- one that actually gets the gun sold -- is in the $75 to $150 range. As usual, condition determines price. I bought two -- one in very good condition, one with a broken hammer that I can replace for $7 -- for $80 and $70 respectively at the spring 2006 Tulsa gun show ("world's largest") on the day before the public could get in; I think they were bargains and would have sold quickly at those prices. I saw another there for $150 that didn't sell. These guns are somewhat scarce but not rare by any means. I have five and haven't paid more than $125 for any of them. They're a nice kid's starter handgun.
