I posted this on 1911 forum without much response,so I'll try it here.
How do you think a mag carrier for a 8 or 10 rounder would work placed in the small of the back horizontal on the belt with a belt loop on either side of the center belt loop in back.
Not for the primary carry of a reload but as a low profile way to carry a little extra ammo when you wanted to.
Let me know what you think. Joey Sanders

Hi Joey,

I don't see why this wouldn't work, but I am wondering why you would want horizonal carry?

You must have way too many tactical goodies on your belt if you can't fit another mag or two in the usual vertical carry !

I think I would prefer to keep cuffs, or something else back there, if space is a limiting factor.

I just thought on those occasions when you wanted to carry a few more rounds it would be a low profile way to do so. This was/is in addition to a couple of 8 or 10 rounders in the conventional vertical carry.
I know you don't normally need this kind of ammo but it would be better to have it and not need it than the other way around. You know, the spare tire concept. Joey S.

I have a nylon version but I don't wear it SOB. Doesn't poke or pinch and I find it a very comfortable way to carry an extra mag or two. Unfortunately there's no brand name on any of them but I might be able to find out and if I do I'll post it.
Yes Lou,that's why I never order mag pouches but if you made a horizontal pouch I'd buy a few.

I have to second Luigi's opinion of Mike Meredith.

I've used his pocket holsters since 1997 and they are top flight. He also made a IWB for a S&W 457, a gun with a short, thick slide. It's actually wearable and the damn gun hides completely even under a tailored jacket.
