Gentlemen! I'd like your input: First hand knowledge and educated best guesses desired...

So I have several .32ACP 1903 Colt Pocket Hammerless pistols. They're great in so many ways and one of my all time favorite lil hand guns. Anyway, I have two that are Type III pre 1924... So *without* the half-cock notch in the hammer. Which I believe to be nothing more than a fail-safe of sorts to add a margin of safety should the main hammer notch slip the sear, for one reason or another.

Be that as it may, the question I have at hand is this: Could I swap out the hammer and sear with a later model hammer-sear set that has the halfcock notch? The intent here would be to gain a safety feature and improve a near 100 year old pistol just for the sake of doing so.

Might it be that easy or might other considerations/alterations required? Try it and see? Or just forget about it and enjoy them for what they are?

Penny for your thoughts....

Ps. Sourcing quality parts will be a trick in itself so any leads appreciated.
