Recently acquired a used 4013 stainless. The slide is marked "Nevada P & P" on the right side. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Thanks.

I don't know, but I'll guess - probably a police trade-in. Maybe "parole and probation"?
I had a 669 that was an old Newark, NJ Police trade-in. It has N.P.D stamped on the slide, frame, and barrel.

Rich;

Nevada P&P stands for Parole and Probation. When visiting the S&W factory 2 or 3 years ago I saw these pistols being marked with that info.

And thanks to you, too, Mr. Spackler4013, didn't mean to leave you out.

I appreciate all your assistance.
