You are probably thinking about the 7.62X39 Russian round, which is a very common caliber these days and is quite inexpensive. That is the caliber that the SKS rifles are chambered for, as are the AK-47s.

That's what I figured but the rounds that came with the gun say 762x31, and the gun jammed when I tried to feed a 762x39 round into it.

Check and see that you don't have a broken shell in the chamber.[very common w/ some steel case ammo] If you do I think cheaper than dirt has extractors for about $10. :evil:

7.62 NATO is 7.62x51, which would be an equivalent typo. How big does the chamber look? There's almost an inch difference in case length between the two, so it ought to be fairly easy to tell...
