I have a full size Colt 9 mm. I want to try shooting 9x23. What do I need to convert my regular 9mm to 9x23. Freeboring of barrel? up to what lenght? Also what magazine should I use? Any previous (how to) posts regarding this topic? Thanks!

Call Bar-Sto and get a barrel and use 38 super mags. Also trim the ejector down to the difference between the 9mm and 9x23(2mm).
Make sure the extractor fits the 9x23 rim and install a recoil spring to match the loads that your going to shoot.

Now you have a two caliber gun.

Same extractor, same ejector...both just need to be tweaked to work with the cartridge.

Also thing to possibly look at is to have an O/S firing pin stop fitted to keep the extractor from rotating, and have a firing pin fitted so that the primer isn't able to bleed back.

Make the the recoil spring matches you load.

Now you have a good place to start.
