I applied for my ammunition manufactures license when I applied for my FFL, the license cost me $30.00 and it is valid for three years.

I have not sold any of the ammunition that I have manufactured yet, however I know that you must pay Federal Excise Tax on the ammunition that you manufacture, not the ammo that you reload for other people.

If you are interested in insurance, you may want to e-mail this lady, she represents the company that I am considering at this time. She would be able to give you more information on that aspect of it:

I know that I was not much help, but maybe others can give you more!

Actually, you gave me all the help I really needed at this time. Thanks!

I was considering getting an ammo mfg's license and an FFL all at one time just as yourself, in order to have them both done all at once, even though I do not currently have plans for selling my own ammunition.

Thank you kindly, Mr McLeod!
