My local gun range carries Ross Leather exclusively and was thinking of getting a holster sometime soon for their tactical shoots. Any input on Ross Leather from either Lou, Tony, or someone who owns Ross Leather would be appreciated, thanks.

I have one. Its ok. The lining is peeling off. Not the quality of my Alessi Talon or Waldon holster. Do you shoot at East Orange? If you do try digging around in the Holsters for a Gary Bromeland. Those are a lot better than the Ross's.

Ross Leather - have three of their belt slides. KelTec, Daewoo, Sig 229. Ross is out of Florida and makes a middle of the line holster that is affordable, functional. I also have an identical belt slide in .45 Colt that I have had for a while and it was made by the 'ol ShadO company. I believe that ShadO is the fore runner of Ross. All are of South African origin.

Ed,
I don't believe Ross ever had a fore runner.
Mr. Ross made holsters for the South African Military and Police for years. The distributor is in Florida. I think in Brandon Fla to be exact. But as I have stated before and will continue to state. " I could be mistatken"

MattK - Like I said above, the ShadO belt slide that I have had for my .45, is identical to the Ross leather right down to the threads running for the stitches all around the leather. I bought the three Ross belt slides that I have about one year ago. When I seen them on the rack at my dealer, I jumped for joy as I thought that they were the ShadO. As I mentioned, both are of South African stock. I have tried to find out about the ShadO and cannot locate any info on it. Perhaps someone else is familiar with the old ShadO leather holsters. I only have the one. My comment as to the ShadO being the fore runnner of the Ross could be wrong, as it was a comment that I made due to an assumption on my behalf. No offense to Ross leather! Both brands are good holsters, otherwise I would not own them.
