I never expected this problema. I hopped in my old-but-faithful German sporty car today, which has sport seats with wide side bolsters. Hopped too vigorously... as my butt hit the seat, I felt the tension on my belt, and then cr-aaaaaaaaaack! The muzzle end of the paddle holster hung up on the seat bolster, and snapped the body clean off the paddle. DANGIT!

I'm glad I wasn't 1000 miles from home on a road trip, like last week. Of course, I had my IWB as a backup on that trip, but I don't always. This couldn't happen with an IWB rig, or a leather belt-slotted OWB holster. I like the paddle (and am sad... they're $60+), but I might switch to leather for OWB to prevent a reoccurence, even though the paddle is much easier to take on and off quickly. I'll keep using the kydex OWB models for IDPA.

Wonder if Blade-Tech will replace it at nominal cost. Can't hurt to ask, right?

Pat:
I just talked to my friend at Blade Tech (got him out of bed) and read him your letter.
He says that you must have the old style paddle. However, he said that Blade Tech has a lifetime warranty and they will replace it for you for no charge.

John: That's AWESOME! Thanks SO MUCH for making the call. I'll call them tomorrow  The paddle portion folds over in a 'U', from the same piece of plastic that the holster body is formed from... one piece. The area where it folds is reinforced with a rivet, which popped out too. Dohhhhhh.

It's not my week for plastic... went to the range today for some casual hunting rifle and tac pistol shooting. Broke the trigger spring on my Glock 19 (only about 5k rounds thru the gun). Fortunately, I carry a spare... G19, that is! I have spare springs too. Glocks are great, but nothing is perfect (re" "Glock Perfection") and everything breaks sometime, if you use it enough. It wouldn't have happened with my 1911's (one of which will soon be my carry gun, I think).
