For the last week and a half I have been trying out Dane's holster, available exclusively through him (it is made by Alessi).

I have to say the more I use it the more I like it. So far it is the best IWB I have ever used. The positioning of the holster on my body is secure yet gives me a full firing grip when executing a draw. Not to mention the fact it doesn't seem to want to catch clothing via the grip frame when going through normal body movements like I have had problems with concerning other IWB's (When kneeling, reaching, standing up, etc.)

It is also very comfortable yet I can feel the gun against my body which I like due to a worst case scenario (i.e. somebody trying to disarm me).

In closing, I wholeheartedly recommend this holster to anyone looking for an IWB for a 1911. Thank You Dane and Lou Alessi!

Seems like the more I get the GWH into the professional gunmen's hands the more folks like this holster. It's been a 10 year labor of love getting it done right  Lou's version is the best yet in my mind. 4 to 6 weeks on delivery but I am trying to stock up on them for immediate shipment. We are playing some SERIOUS catch up at the moment.

In the short time that I have had mine, I've already determined that my Galco Royal Guard is going to be gathering a whole lot of dust!

Hey Larry, I just discovered this feature and I though you of all people would appreciate it  No wonder people become power hungry maniacs! Feel free to edit my inane comments  But this function just couldn't be ignored! And I am stone cold sober while I am doing it. Imagine what it could be like when I get a case of the ASS

I need MORE coffee, MORE POWER!

Dane gave me an ACP (actually I think Lou made him do it but he won't 'fess up) at our last training and when I saw the GWH I stole one of those too (shhh! he'll never know ).

Now I have tried for 30 years or more to adapt to an IWB but there is always something slightly wrong with them, even the ubiquitous Summer Special. But this one was love at first sight - with the holster not Dane! - I just knew this thing was the best IWB I had ever seen and the last couple of weeks have born that out! I will still probably carry an OWB most often because it is just a little more comfortable, there being a little too much of me inside my pants to share the room with two major caliber pistols - but this is certainly one outstanding holster. Lest you think that is flattery, never fear, I will pan my buddies quicker than most other folks (just ask em)

I am eagerly waiting my CQC/s form Lou to try out but so far the ACP is growning on me. Easily the equal of the Wilson Tactical I had been wearing (not that it isn't a good holster also).

Carry on,
Jim H.

Well, the GWH is surely a nice looking holster. 'Course, I've got no way to determine whether it works or not since Dane departed the AO leaving the GWH, but tucking all my Government Models away in his suitcase. I kinda feel foolish just wearing the empty rig and I can't stuff a New Service or a SAA into Lou's tight fitted leather.

Would seem a creative holster shoemaker like Lou would have left enough leather to cram a New Service or SAA down in it for wear after one of Rupert's foraging expeditions....

256,
I had some really pleasant things to tell you about that Commercial 1911 and a dandy little chromed gun that now shoots better than its twin.....but I'll just reserve the good news till you have something besides a Super to carry in that GWH

After all no one likes to carry bullets less than half the dia. of their stogies

You must be embarrassed with just a 45

Jeez, it sure would be sweet to win that holster you're putting on the block. Your generous offer of the gift certificates are cool too, but being Canadian, you already know the problems I would have getting my guns to you, to take advantage of that offer.

Lets hope I win the HOLSTER !!!

PS - Maybe I better check and see if holsters are still legal in Canada.

Well, Dane,

The 38 Super just don't count towards 1911 carry guns north of the Rio Bravo....

For cigar diameter slugs, I lean towards the 470 NE, but settle for the 416 Rigby and the 460 Wby.

Waiting for feedback. Enjoy shooting the Swenson-Colts.

Good Lord, you took an awful chance allowing Dane to leave town with those two Swensons.
He might loose them, and be forced to replace them with brand new Norinco's!

You're an evil pair. Dane: See logo cmts in E-mail. Lou, I have a long memory but I still want my holsters....

Anyway, I still got my New Services and SAA's...that GWH IS stretching out a bit after soaking in Lexol and Neatsfoot...

Oh no Lou, Dane wouldn't think of replacing a Swenson with a Norinco.... I heard he had a new stock of Charles Daly's
