Since I was told that the Wilson Armor-tuff coating was not a good idea. What do you guys recormend.Keep it in mind I need to keep it under $250.00 and I don`t want Nickle or Chrome.I would like glossy black or green.
I have a Les Baer SRP with the Baercote on it. It seems much more durable than Wilson's Armor Tuff, but it is very slippery. I have heard that Walt Birdsong's teflon coating would be a good choice. I am going to try that on my CQB when the rst of the finnish is gone... like maybe after my next defensive class.
Hi folks!
I have the Birdsong Black T on all of my non-
plastic guns and I am highly satisfied. It
is not perfect, but there is nothing else on
the market that is black and works as well.
The Robar coatings are pretty good as well,
all the guns I've had that sported his
finishes are gone now though...
I have several 1911's finished in both Black T and Alex Hamilton's Gun Kote. I really like both. The Black T is a glossy black, and sort of " soft ". easily scratched. The Gun Kote is a matte black and " harder ". I like both. And both are very reasonably priced compared to Bearcoat.
