I recieved an email from DW stating that the frames and slides on the "Pointman" models are investment castings. It also said that they are heat treated. I am considering purchasing a Pointman and wondered if any of the 'smiths here would care to comment on the quality and durability of casting vs forgings. I believe my hi power is cast, and I have put 1000's of rnds thru it, albeit 9mm. Any and all adivice is appreciated. Thanks, Terry

I have heard that the frames and slides that come from Dan Wesson are Essex, I don't actually know for sure. The ones that I have seen come with Jarvis barrels....

The slides and frames are from Essex. I don't have a problem with properly cast and heat-treated frames (Caspian). I do have mixed emotions about cast slides though.
