I was out of shooting for a few years, and when I started back up, I discovered that Lawrence of Oregon had gone out of business.

I was just curious if someone bought the business, or it just dried up. I would have thought the Cowboy Action Shooting stuff would have been good for them.

Lawrence made 1950 style holsters. Their company was really kept afloat by their stock business. When they moved out of Portland, they ended up in Yuba City, Calif. Unfortlunately, beginning in the 60's, furniture makers outbid the stock makers for quality walnut. Furniture makers have a purchasing agent who buys tree surgeons expensive dinners and cruises the roads in Sutter County waiting for a tree to be culled out. Note that most modern gunstocks are now plastic.
