Ayoob has discussed in various writings how the double action shots tend to be less accurate than single action in stress situation and for guns that start double action and then continue with single action, the first shot tends to be the worst because of the double action.

Something to consider. If you regularly carry a brief case, get a level II ballist panel put in it. For a lot of brief cases, such a panel could simply be slipped into the last slot of the accordian pocket in the top half of the brief case with no major modifications to the case itself. In that way, your briefcase can be used as a shield against handgun rounds without weighing a ton.
