Does breaking the top edge of the firing pin hole with a round file help feeding?Does it actually do anything to keep the cartridge casing from hanging up?Is this a common practice among pistol-smiths?Is this something that should be included in so-called "Reliability Packages"?

i really cant see where that would help anything unless there is a burr or something protruding from the pin hole. seems to me if you made the firing pin hole to big you might have irregular primer hits, just my opinion though.

It's a common and good practice to lightly put a bevel around the circumference of the firing pin hole. You just need to knock down the sharp edge, nothing more, and not very deep at all. You are not trying to make the hole bigger, just smooth out the "corners".
