Maybe not 500K, but I have the original one in my 30 and I figure thast is has about 5 cases through it. Of course, the 21 has about 3 times that many through it, and I still have the original spring and rod in that, and it works fine.

Tough stuff, methinks.

Thank you for the info guys. I have been told that I should change the recoil spring in my 1911 after 2000 rds--although I'm willing to go maybe 5000 rds with the same spring before changing it. I have never heard anything specific about the recoil springs in the Glock and was looking for some guidance. Thanks again.

I would not worry, your Glock will still be going strong when the 1911 has completely disintegrated and turned to dust....
