Hello, You need to hold the lever bar down to remove and replace, make sure it will go all the way down first, if not press the lever. Hold the pin down with a fat flat punch and slide the plate half way like a 1911, you may also have the press the plate down to get it home.
Some days are better that others, yesterday I had the pin and spring fly out when I hit the lever and both parts flew 15 feet in my garage in the direction of my junk drawers full of nails ,screws, and other small things that look alike. I did finaly find both parts about 6 feet away from each other, the Fireing pin was in a box of mixed nails!!! I feel I won that day my friend! Hahahaha, good luck. GTO
