The other day at a local gun shop I saw an insert for the Glock factory recoil rod (full and compact, not the sub-compact). This item is a steel rod, about 3/32" in diameter, 2.5 " long and is inserted in the open end of the guide rod. One end is flared and has a slot for a screw driver so it can installed into the plastic guide rod. The claim is it is suppose to add weight and prevent flexing of the rod. I am not sure but I think it is made by Scherer.

Has anyone seen or heard of this item?

Doc,

I have replaced my guide rod on my 22 and my 23 with the Wolff brand. These are excellent quality. I have a Wolff 20 LB on my 23 and this has really made it shoot better. I have not played around with changing spring weights on the 22 yet.
