I am considering rebarreling my Glock 30 with a Barsto so I can shoot my lead reloads without fear of excessive leading. Are the aftermarket barrels for Glocks true "drop in" replacements or is some fitting still required? If you believe the Glock sales literature, Glocks are designed such that barrels are completely interchangeable between pistols, no individual fitting needed. Comments, please.

Bill Go: Look on the Glock page and read "the glock 20 in 9x23". I could not find anything about fitting glock barrels, but do have a Barsto on order "drop in" and will find out when the man in brown shows up. Hope this helps. Mike

Bill,
They are close enough that you will be able to "drop it in" and go shooting.
If you are skilled with your hands and know what to do you can "fit" the barrel or if not you can shoot and wear it in.
Barsto makes the barrels with a slightly oversize hood. I have found that the drop ins usually require very slight fitting or strong hand pressure to cycle until the barrel wears in.

The KKM bbl dropped in to my G35 w no fitting, but I've heard from folks who had to fit theirs.

Bar-Sto says "semi drop-in" to cover their butt. Sounds silly to me, kinda like semi pregnant; you is or you ain't. They do or they don't drop in.

May be somebody can answer this. Those of you that have changed barrels on your Glocks, have you seen a noticeable accuracy improvements over stock?

Be aware, Glock Model 30's don't feed SWC bullets well (or at least mine doesn't). I have decided to stay with the JHP's.
FWIW, the 30 I had would not feed even truncated cone bullets with any real reliability.

The BarSto "semi drop in" barrel that I bought from BarSto did not fit my Glock 35. I had to send it back to them with my gun for fitting.
They don't guarantee that their barrels will fit without some light gun smithing.
It now functions 100 percent. Just don't make assumptions about any after-market barrel.

The KKM for my G17 was drop-in and shoots way better.
With the Glock barrel at 20 yards(off hand) I'd get a 6-1/8" group.
With the KKM barrel at 20 yards(off hand) I get a solid 3" group.
Ten shots each,thats 100% better!
