I got a real Browning today - I figured I'd better grab one while I can since I've been told that Browning isn't making them or maybe just not importing them anymore. At least that's one a local dealer told me when I called for a price. It's a MK III, $550 NIB that cost me $200 after trading some .22's I didn't shoot anymore. It functioned perfectly out of the box but did bite me a little. A bit of hammer bobbing should take care of that. Now I'm thinking of replacing the grips with some Spegel's from Cylinder and Slide and swapping the front sight for a tritium. One thing I didn't notice till I got home and disassembled it for cleaning is that the magazine safety is missing. Is this something new or did they just forget to install it? Oh, well, saves me some work.

Was it a used gun? (I doubt Browning would forget to put in the mag disconnect...)

Browning is producing them in limited #'s, but they're supposed to still be importing them.

If you get a chance, check out the Ahrends Tactical grips too, I like them better, but my guns being refinished, so I don't have a pic yet.

Hello 45Shooter. I'll bet that Browning did NOT forget and that you have a BHP previously owned, maybe not shot, but previously owned and the magazine safety removed. I prefer them removed, but if you do not, I'm sure Browning will provide you the missing parts.
I have some and will send you a the spring and plunger if you want the accursed things.
I do NOT have a spare pin to secure them.

Some of my best firearms were purchased used or preowned.

Kudos on your MkIII.

Best.
