Years later and we're both still alive and posting on here too, Ed! We've outlasted a lot of the competition ourselves. :D

I am very, VERY fond of Star pistols, but the Ultrastar was an unfortunate lapse in Bonifacio Echeverria's sensibility.

If you had compared the Ultrastar to some useful gun, its shortcomings would have been manifest.

Just my 2 pesos.

P.S. I have two of them. They are nice shooters, but strictly recreational.
if you are still around, I know its an old thread, your disclaimer that the ultrastar is a great gun....but not, seems unreasonable and puts you in the minority opinion here, I find myself agreeing with Richard and Ed, the ultrastars value and shootability compared to other much more exspensive guns is exceptional. Heavier frame, lower bore axis, releable as a rock and great accuracy. Please name this weapons fault as you see it, I am always ooen to learn......or anyone else that agrees with MGMikes assesment of the ultrastar, thnx in advance for your time
