Hard crome, what is the first step??

Hello, I need some help. I have a plain Kimber 5" with the slide and some of the frame worn from holster wear. I would like to have the gun hard cromed, Tripp and Metaloy have been recomend. My ? is do they dissasible the pistol or must I? What about the sights are they taken off before the process? Basically I need someone to tell me the steps one by one.

It really depends on the chosen plater's policies. Some platers offer disassembly/reassembly included in the plating price or as an extra-charge service. If the plater is doing the disassembly, you'll need to specify any parts that you don't want plated (sights, etc.).

Bottom line; talk with your plater.
