I have a Kimber Eclipse and I shoot high thumb on safety. The problem is that even with the safety pinned I get a "hole" and poor contact with the web of my hand. Would I be better off installing an Ed Brown GS and cutting up into the gun higher, or installing some kind of low ride thumb safety, as I hear Gunsite does or used to make. I like the high thumb position but the beavertail is keeping the gun from setting into the web of my hand fully.

Thanks for recommendations.

The most common madification (besides a relaibility package) I do on Kimbers is a new beaverrtail. CMC or Brown will solve your problem I suspect. I use a CMC if you need/want a pad and a Brown for myself if I am going to pin the grip safety. I went so far as to design my own beavertail to get the feel I wanted and a beavertail that would disengage when needed with my hand size.
