Can a 9mm aluminum frame commander be rebarrelled (rechambered?) to 9X23 and stay in one piece? Will the alloy frame take the beating?

Aside from a new barrel and magazine, what changes are needed to make a 9mm Para Commander operate as a 9X23? Thanks.
