Hey Dane: 9X23 LtWt Commander?

Can a 9mm aluminum frame commander be rebarrelled (rechambered?) to 9X23 and stay in one piece? Will the alloy frame take the beating?

Richard Heinie shows a lightweight Commander in 9x23 on his home page..if that means anything...
