I noticed an ad in GUNS magazine for another gold plated fancy 1911 commerating another historical event. It's no wonder that some folks around the country can't buy or even see a current production 1911 from Colt.

How much of Colt's production is directed to these $2000 gold plated Elvis guns? I know none of you guys would actually know the answer to this but I'm venting right now.............Mike

It has nothing to do with production, which is at about zero. The custom shop has some guns in stock that will probably never be produced again, unless some free country buys the production facilities.
