In my rulebook, I can't find anything that said the welded on extended beavertail is not allowed. In fact in the "inclusive list of permitted mods", it specifically said that extended thumb and grip safeties are allowed. I agree with you and I think it was an oversight. I'm pretty sure there is somebody somewhere that has the modification done to his Hi Power and used it in a sanctioned match. Next time I talk to Ken Hackathorn, I'll ask him.
