I have two of these little guys in carbon steel available. Originally destined for California. If you are interested take a look in in the for sale forum.

Sorry Hoser, this is as small of gun that I will generally work on because of reliability issues. This size of Kimber or a Commander top end and a Officer's bottom like some of the CCW Colts have good reputations for reliability.

I am surprised you don't own one already
Here is your chance with little wait!

Dang it Dane...You are a very bad man...sheesh.

Why does this stuff happen...I just last week dumped a large pile of money into the wifes car....heck...if you would have posted these last week...I would have tried to convince her that walking isn't so bad.

Those are incredible....are ya sure you don't need any guitars???

sorry Dane...I already know the answer.

Hi Dane,
Well, I do have a LW Commander but you talked me into waiting for a full size.

I'm currently selling some toys to start my savings account for a full house BCP (platform and caliber TBD)!

Don't temp me with other things and get me off track. You're a bad influence. Shame on you!

I'm really looking forward to getting one of these Kimber Compacts from Dane. I was hoping to have it in time for the class I'm going to attend. I ordered one from Dane the day after the add went up.

Who got the other one?

I'm really looking forward to getting mine as well. I had just called Dane the week before these went up for sale to ask his advice on which Kimber Compact (steel vs. aluminum, Series I vs. Series II) to buy for him to customize. Just as I was preparing to buy a steel Series I to send to him for the Fed package, I saw the ad. Needless to say, I jumped at the chance to avoid the long wait and immediately called him and closed the deal. I had him add the "wave" and send it out to get Black T'd. Hopefully, it'll be here soon as I am anxious to see the difference a good pistolsmith can make to a 1911. The only 1911's I've shot thus far are my two stock Kimbers, a Pro Carry and an Ultra Carry. I suspect I'm in for a treat.

John B, what finish and front strap treatment did you choose? Did you have Dane make any other modifications?

I wanted a black gun since I don't like bright guns for carry. I even asked Dane to have the trigger and hammer Black T'd. I like bluing a lot but decided on Black T for a carry gun for its ease of maintenence. I live in South Florida so rust is a concern and Black T seems to have the best reputation in this respect. I also like the idea of the lubricity of Black T. Whenever I get a full sized 1911 it will most likely be hard chromed. Maybe a full custom 9x23 from Dane!

When I first went down, I-95 wasn't there. For that matter, not much was west of Dixie Hwg. I moved away in '77 after I got out of college.

Thanks for the info. I baby my guns so much that corrosion isn't too much of an issue. I carried an HK P7M8 for almost a month in south america and had no problem. Where did you find out about black T? Any web site?

Hey guys

Walt Birdsong makes his living by doing Government contracts. I have my own personal gun there among the others sent more recently. Mine has now been over 8 weeks! I have been looking for it everyday.

Anyone who is doing any business with the Federal government is swamped currently. If it is something that is user specific it is most likely sold out. I have some individual customers that have to have a priority right now but it is not a big deal I'll get caught back up. But guys like Birdsong or Alessi get swamped when we have a national crisis.

I don't expect your gun back in time for your request John, sorry. It is time for all of us to have some patience. Including me

Shay, I missed your post. I live in Fort Lauderdale but sometimes I shoot in Pompano at Revere Gun Range. Thanks for the offer and I'd love to take you up on it sometime. BTW, do you know where I can get some good shooting instruction around here?
