I just got one and I wasn't aware that the kimber 40 has a ramp barrel.
anyone have a 40? also if it doesn't have the II marked on the slide is it a "pre II series"?

thanks,
shay

If it does not have "II" after the model name on the slide then it should not have the II series firing pin safety. Kimber was producing 40 S&W pistols as part of their line well before the II series, just not in near the same numbers as .45s.

Lots of pre-II Kimbers still out there. Just picked up another blue Classic Custom myself as a future project gun. I imagine that Kimber will keep producing pre-II guns until their parts inventory of the older parts is depleted, which I expect is soon. If you want a Kimber without the II-series lock work, get one now before they are gone.
