As you have read, I have suspended sales of
my Kimber Sights temporarily. I have run into
many problems in the past two weeks. We have
either seen or have heard of Pistols that shoot from 6" low at 25 Yds. to 5" high at 25 Yds. If your Pistol doesn't shoot point of aim for you with Factory Sights, installing mine isn't going to change things one bit.
My sights are Taller than factory, but the relationship between Front and Back are the same as Factory Sights. I have checked over a dozen different Models of Kimbers in the past week and all of them have the exact same sights on them as they come from the Factory.
The only exception has been a Custom Shop Pistol that had the Sights Zeroed.
I still beleive my Sights are correct, if the barrel is properly fit and the sight cuts in the slide are as they should be. This is another area that seems to be floating on many Kimber Slides. Changing the depth of the rear sight can change point of impact rather drastically.
I will still sell my Kimber Sights, as long as you know going in that, installion will not change the way it presently shoots.

timujin,
Probably best is to pick your carry or target load, ransom rest or benchrest it to desired point of impact (15, 20 or 25 yards?). Do it several times and see where you're load/gun combo is hitting and send it to the gunsmith. They'll probably be able to install the appropriate front sight heigth (not rear sight) that will correctly adjust to hit at point of aim.

Timuljn,

What's the point of the Moses comment? Are you just trying to be rude? Heinie is one of the best (if not THE best) smiths in the country and he makes the sights used by many of us. Who would know Kimber sight problems better than him? Show a little respect.

Maybe the temporary answer to the Kimber problem is MMC adjustable sights (the only adjustable sights for the standard Kimber sight cut).

Helps to remember the smiths on list make money by building guns not reviewing every comment they make on a email forum.

If you need an answer that can't be found easily on their web site...as this one could have been...send them a private email.

Dick Hienie and the majority of the smiths will be happy to answer you when they get time.

Being snide or rude isn't the way to EVER get a questioned answered in public from any of the smiths I know. Heinie was just polite enough to not light you up in public.
