Hello all, just found this forum.

I recently got a can of Coastal lithium grease (it's white colour). I have this on my guns for carry. I use mobil 1 when shooting at the range.

Problem is I'm an overlubricator

Start off with a dab and before you know it I'm slobbering oil all over the place.

So, how's the lithium stuff for lube?

Thanks -Coop

I'm not familiar with the grease you mention, but Lubriplate, a lightweight white (lithium?) grease is pretty dandy on firearms. I use a combination of Tetragrease or Lubriplate with Miltec or Break Free on my tightly fitted 1911's. The grease helps the oil stay put, and tends to stay around a little longer when the oil starts to burn off. Nothing really seems to stay that long on the barrel when the bushing is reasonably well fitted.
