I'm thinking of installing a Wilson mag well on my SA Supertuned. It is the type that attaches to the grip bushings. Wilson says the grips must be relieved to install the mag well. I need some advice. Generally, how much of the grips need to be taken off? Is this something a regular guy can do at hoem or is it a gunsmith project? Thanks for the info.

Just lay the new magwell on the inside of the grip and trace the outline. You can use a very small wood chisel to whittle away at the wood and then use sand paper to smooth it out. It is pretty simple. I would recommend getting flat bottom grips though, like the ones made for the S&A magwell. These look nicer next to the magwell than traditional grips IMHO.

Best of luck to you!
