I'm not Secmat nor do I play him on TV. However, I think I know what he's talking about. The SS has the loops on side directly opposite the body. Offset loops are placed at the forward and rear edge of the holster, ala the Versa Max 2 or the ARG (with only one rear loop). This has the advantage of reducing the width of the holster and increasing the comfort level.
Bingo buzz_knox. For my body the offset loops seem to pull the butt of the pistol in a bit tighter while maintaining a high level of comfort. I was using a SS when I was forced to borrow a pistol and a Concealco IWB came with it. Sold me...
