Just fishing for opinions on MMC adjustable sights. MMC lists an adjustable rear that will fit the factory fixed-sight cut on a Kimber. Is this a decent sight? Is there another adjustable rear that will go on my Kimber without any more (major) machining?

Put a fiber-optic front sight on it. Didn't realize till it was done that the new sight is taller than the original!

Thanks,

Dave

I have a set of rear MMC sights on my Kimber. Didn't like the ears on the side of the site--it made target acquisition slower for me--so I ended up grinding them down. The sights are a lot better now, more like Bomars.

I had MMC install a set of their sights on a Makarov for me. The sights, IMHO, are great. The installation that MMC did is very clean.

I have a Classic Stainless on order; it will wear MMC sights as soon as I can afford it.

From what I understand, Kimber sights can be very tight in the dovetail cuts, and moving them without a sight drifting tool will usually ding them up. You may want to have a pistolsmith, or MMC install them.

Thanks for the opinions, folks. Tried out my new MMC sight this weekend. I think I made a good choice. Shot pretty well in a match on Sunday.

The original sight was very tight in the dovetail. Patience and careful strikes with a brass drift worked fine. Had to file the base of the sight a bit to get it to fit right.

Thanks again,

Dave
