Those of you that are considering the artistry of a custom pistol craftsman, need look no further than Dane Burns. He built a custom Kimber Compact for my wife that, in her words, fits her like a glove, and her results prove it. The custom metal work is incredible and most importantly it ALWAYS works with whatever it is fed. Add to that, Dane just worked on a Springfield TRP for me. Nothing sexy, just a trigger job. Well, hardly just a trigger job...this pistol started out with a 8lb factory pull (yes, not a type...8lbs) and now breaks like silk on glass at 4lbs. This really changed this pistol from being one that I like to one that I love. Turn around time was unbelievable (5 days) and you can't find that type of quality for the price anywhere. I can't recommend Dane enough. If you aren't familiar with him, you can find him at http://www.burnscustom.com

A picture of my wife's pistol can be found at http://www.pistolsmith.com/viewtopic.ph ... &forum=6&2

Here's the gun in question for everyone's convenient viewing:

I'd like to use this opportunity to show off the Delta Elite that I just got back from Dane today... ran 150 rounds through it without a hitch. Note that I'm not claiming to show off my PHOTOGRAPHIC skills.

As an aside, this whole forum is Dane's bailiwick, so I doubt that there are many people here who don't know who he is. Don't worry, bragging about your BCP is expected, you'll fit right in.

CastleBravo,

I appreciate the help with the Pic. Any chance you can guide me in how to post pics with each post. I have some others to share. Hopefully some of the visitors of this forum are looking for help in selecting a custom smith and will see the light and work with Dane. BTW: Great looking pistol.

To show a picture, paste the address of the picture into your message, the put [i m g] at the beginning of the address and [/i m g] at the end. Oh yeah, remove the extra spaces so it is "img."

After viewing Dane's artistry here, I knew he was the person to turn my Commander from a sows ear into the proverbial silk purse. I agree with Dane on classic and simple modifications to 1911's which helped in making the decision.

As I just dropped off the pistol last month, I'm still in the waiting stage. I have no doubts that I will be extremely pleased with the finished product.

Lefty has been persistant here but we are not suppose to dbl post on any two topic lines. I have deleted this thread twice. Hopefully one or the other will die a slow death.

I do appreciate the compliments guys but there are other good smiths here too. Ask around on prices and delivery times. Any number of us can help you out I suspect.

Dane,

Sorry about that. Felt that I had mis-posted the original one and kept wondering what I was doing wrong since the posts were not showing up. Didn't know you were the ghost deleter.

No problem Bro  It is my job!

But with threads that start with "My thoughts on Dane Burns" that is kind of scary. There are a few out there in cyber land that might not be as kind as this forum is.

No harm, no foul
