These are neat and all but all the abbreviations/acronyms kill me.....and I'm an IT Analyst

You could almost have an entire technology related conversation through email at work and hardly type a "real" word. Start mixing in company specific abbreviations with widely recognized ones and man you are talking alphabet soup.

I saw an email yesterday that in just a couple sentences had something like 6 or 7 abbreviations.

Spellcheckers have done enough to ruin me. Call me old fashion, but I'll probably stick to typing things out.....if I can spell it,,,,,damn spellcheckers.

Well, here it is a year later, and I'm just taking noticing of Mute's CRIS entry. Too funny. I guess that's not all that far removed from CRS, as in "Can't Remember, uh, Stuff." Yeah, that's it.

Then there is the tried and true ODF, which is SOCOM parlance for "Out 'Dere Flappin'." (SOCOM is itself short for the U.S. Special Operations Command, for those among us for those who may be really aconymally-challenged.

ODF is akin to the longer description of one who is "single channel red in a frequency hopping green world:" an offhand reference to the encryption and frequency jumping capabilities of modern U.S. military radios. How I ever got here is beyond me, but as I'm bordering on irrelevance, I think I'll just let it rest now.
