Just wondering if you could powder coat a frame and/or slide.

A friend of mine, who is a skilled gunsmith, also does powder coating of parts for motorcycles and hot rods. He played around a bit with trying to use powder coating for a gun finish, but the surface build up is too much for most gun parts and many common gun cleaning solvents attack and dull the finish of the powder coating. He abandoned the idea as unworkable.
