Hello, everyone. As you can see this is my first post to pistolsmith.com. Seems like a nice forum with lots of good info. So, I hope you can help me.

I am in the market for a new holster, belt and mag pouch for My Glock 30. I am currently using a Sidearmor IWB. It is a wonderful (the best IMO) kydex holster. But, I really want a nice leather setup. I almost orderd the full getup from Mitch Rosen's line yesterday but hesitated when I saw the bottom line. Now, I am not averse to spending the money, I just want to be sure that I am getting the right rig. So, here are my questions:
I here very good things about Lou Alessi Leather but, I have been unable to find any good quality photographs of his work. Every pic I find on the net is small and grainy. Anyone know where I can find some good ones?

Any other makers I need to investigate?

I currently carry IWB but, now want a beltside or other owb. Any suggestions?

Also needs to be IDPA approved.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Brass

Use the search feature here to find photos of Mr. Alessi's work.

Lou also makes holsters for Dane Burns of Burns Custom Pistols and Richard Heinie. There are photos available at their web sites of a few of Lou's holsters.

Flying Brass,

Here's a link to a picture of the CQC-S belt holster that I have for my Glock 19:

I couldn't be happier with the holster or with Lou Alessi's customer service. The holster is IDPA approved as well. I've owned a Mitch Rosen belt holster before, and it was beautifully done, but I wouldn't spend that much for a holster again. Also, if you get an Alessi holster, and for some reason there's a problem or it doesn't work for you, Lou Alessi will take care of you.

Hope this helps,
Ed

All I can say is I have a GWH for a Kimber Compact. The gun is still at the Smith but shortly coming my way. The GWH looks like it will be a very comfortable holster for my to carry the Kimber but I don't think its available for the Glock 30.

My 30 is being carried in a Milt Sparks EX. I like it, but thats coming from someone thats not sampled what to many others have to offer. I can say that Mr. Alessi has a nicely made holster in the GWH and really great belts.

Shay,

Great pics and very nice rig you got yourself. Lou does fine work. Have a CQC-S and mag pouches for my Kimber. He is currently making me a CQC-S and mag pouches for a new G30 I will be getting. A new sharkskin belt will compliment it all.
