All I can say is it was very boring not having any problems. No FTFs No FTEs everytime you pull the trigger it gos BANG!! Now thats a great feeling. I shot 100 rounds of Win.White Box 230gr FMJ ball and some Win. Personal Protection 230gr JHP. Also a few of my high priced Rem. Golden Saber 230gr JHP. Tried one handed and limp wristing not a problem. Trigger felt really nice the XD was very eazy to control in rapid fire no jumping around. Both provided highcap Mags worked A OK and they were fairly eazy to load full at 13rds with just my fingers. Try that with a Glock highcap Mag. ;) I was not trying to get really good groups but the XD shoots really good better then I can shoot it. :p I am very happy with how this 45 works. And when I got home it was a snap to take it down and clean. Was finished in 5 Min.s It's so well designed. Anyway I ordered a Comp-Tac Pro Undercover holster like I use for my Glock and Kimbers and I say the XD-45 is good to go. I will make it my carry handgun. ;)

Guns&Ammo has a full report on the new Springfield Armory XD-45acp this Month.

Thanks for your report. :D

I was curious how the .45 XD would run, ... 'cause I'm waiting for the one in 10mm AUTO.

Since the .45 and 10mm cartridges have historically shared the same large-frame (think 1006 & 4506, G20 & G21), as well as having nearly identical loaded COALs, can an XD model in 10mm be that far behind?

Springer XD-.45 ACP

My Springer XD .45 ACP runs well too. I had it out to the range just
recently, and it is everything I expected it too be. No failures or
stoppages of any kind, and I was making head shots on a B-27
from 50 yards out. I even used my fingers to load the magazines
instead of the magazine loader. Just last week, I bought two more
magazines so now that gives me a total of four.

BTW, I have a bunch of carry guns; but I plan on squeezing the
XD .45ACP into the rotation in the near future.

Im new to these forums but I just picked up a 5" Version of this pistol and was extremely impressed with its performance. Im leaving for Iraq in a couples months to do some government contracting work and it will be goin with me. I only put a 150 rds thru it so far but will do another 200 or so this weekend....I previously owned an XD40 and an XD9 and I will continue to purchase the XD line of pistols. I would like a slightly lighter trigger pull does anyone have a suggestion?

I looked at the XD45 this weekend at a gun show. It just looked a little big for concealed carry. I'm pretty small statured. I found it to be a little thick. I have no problem concealing my ultra compact so I guess I'll stay with that until I grow up. LOL

A good friend of mine bought a 4 inch .40. Just on ergonomics I like it better than my Glock. However, one thing that really bothered me was the mirror polished magazines! For a "tactical" weapon that is all decked out in matte finish, the flashy magazines are very odd.

Now the the 45 ACP is available, I'd like to replace my Glock 23, but there has to be some way to subdue the mags.

Tried a 5" .45 XD with some 200 swc lead ammo. Choked big time. Wouldn't feed after the first round. 3 1911s at the range fed the same ammo fine. Hmmm. Haven't seen Petty report on this problem. Maybe Xds are limited to FMJ or lead round nose.

I have both the XD45 Service and Tactical. Both guns are running flawlessly.
I am using a 172PF load with 230gr cast RN and Clays for gun games also with no surprises. Some folks at the XD Forums report some success with SWC bullets after a few hundred rounds of trying. I'm sticking with what works for me.

Still waiting for the XD45 Sub-Compact.

Picked up an XD45 two weeks ago. Love it. Literally sold all my glocks, bought and XD9 - sent it off to Robar for NP3. Trading into another XD45.

Excellent Kit.

I shot my XD-45 4" about 100 rounds with some 230 grain hardball, worked great. Also some Hornady 200 grain defense ammo worked great too.

however with some 180 grain semi-wadcutters it did not work well at all, I'm thinking the recoil spring is too heavy for that load, they were not wide open top loads so that is quite possible.

Mine should be back in Toledo from being springerised, can't wait to shoot it some more, I'm working my way up to having (22) magazines total, 20 to shoot and 2 to keep loaded with carry ammo (I will rotate them).

I have a sililar experience with my XD45. I fired maybe 100rds already and got one or two stove pipes or failure to eject. This is due to a milder than normal load of a 200gr LSWC over 4.5 grs of WST. This is no shortcoming since this gun wasn't designed for light target loads. Additionally, this gun is brand new and recoil spring tension should be at it's greatest. I anticipate that this gun will feed my target loads with higher reliability after 500+rds go down the tube. It's a nice gun....

Multi-Gun Photo....

Right Target is the XD with this load.....

I have nearly 1500 rounds through my XD45 and not one single problem. I fed it pretty much anything in the 200-230 weight I can find and no issues of any kind. It is more accurate than I am. I changed the sights to XS 24/7 Big Dots and LOVE them...really fast target acquisition. I also had Scott at Springer give it a good action and trigger job. Wow what a diff. I have been carrying XD's for three years but this is the best by far. Now I need a sub in 9mm for deeper CCW and jogging.
