I'm installing the McCormick slim grips on a loaded SA. I've never removed the bushings before and they are tight. I don't have the special bushing removal tool and am hoping to be able to remove them without it. If anyone has done this with the SA's before, could you pls relate your experience.
1. Are Springfield's loctitied or staked on?
2. What is the proper way to remove either?
3. What is the proper way to install the new/replacement short bushings provided with the McCormick slim grips?

Thanks Mike & Mike, I will purchase that tool, but I got these off the rookie way, with vice-grips. No damage (other than the bushings, but I don't need them anymore anyways) and I then installed the short bushings with some med strength/242 loctite. The McCormick slimgrips are nicely executed and I like the feel of them so far.
