I was wondering if the SP-101 or Speed/Security Sixes in 9mm are worthy of Dane's attention. They seem a bit easier to procure than 940s (at least the SP-101) is.

Can they be converted, yet still retain the 9mm capability? If so, anyone know where to track down a LNIB one?

Seems I read a post by Dane saying the Ruger SP101 in 9mm would be his first choice for converting to 9X23. I have owned 2 SP101s. A 3" .38 and a 2" 357 mag. They are noticebly heavier than their S&W J frame competitors, although the difference is nil now that S&W is making them with the heavier 2 and an eight inch barrel. The last Indy 1500 gun show I attended, there were NO 9mm SP101s, or S&W 940s. But, I am still watching for a Ruger in 9mm to show up one of these days.
