Has anyone had experience with the S&W Model 4003? According to the Blue Book, it was only produced '91-'93. It's all steel Model 4006 cousin seems to still be in production. Was there a problem with the alloy frame 4003?

They are producing the 4003 again, this time as the 4003TSW. The model 410 is essentially the "value gun" version of the 4003 - alloy frame, steel slide (410 is carbon steel rather than stainless). I had a model 410 and it was a fine handgun. No troubles at all.

I have seen several 40#3's which gave their owner's fits with stove pipe jams. I have fired all of these and came to the conclusion that they were limp wristing and inducing the malf's. these light weight frame 40's work fine if you hold onto them.
