I have a SAA mfg 1902 in 41LC. also have a 38-40 cylinder for it. that is much more of a user cartridge then the 41LC. From my study on the 41LC, i cant see why it would not work to re chamber the cylinder to 40 S&W and have a much more user friendly round to mate with a 38wcf , both 40 S&W and 38-wcf are 401-402 dia. a 27/64 reamer to correct depth will get you about there. minus head space gap your only going in about .750 deep. see any reason this would not work? have 45 LC/ACP cyl in SAA. It same principle. i know, its a first gen Colt but its a refinished shooter grade. can hardly make out the 41 on the barrel, been polished away on in the past. opinions.?
thanks.
