The Sharp Shooter Supply trigger is a good one and Timney is supposed to have a Savage trigger ready for delivery. There are a lot of Savage shooters at the following two forums and they will be more than glad to help you with your questions.
As I understand it, Savage trigger parts are sintered. Thus, filing is contraindicated, as it removes the hardened surface and exposes the soft metal beneath.
I installed a Sharp Shooter trigger unit in my 10 FLP and I have been very happy with this trigger system. I purchase the trigger from Brownells. Several adjustments are required to include the trigger guard. I have a crisp 1.5 # trigger now. Adios
