Um, Jefferson, Jefferson, Jefferson and (maybe) Monroe. No one else has ever come even remotely close.
TR was a fascinating guy, but I don't think he was a particularly remarkable president. Lincoln, well, he also did some great things (that have been misrepresented by history), but did preside during a time when half the nation was a war with the other half -- not a ringing endorsement of his negotiating skills :grin:. Washington, as far as I can tell, is like the guy in any given company with great management hair who keeps getting promoted because he looks the part.
Just my jaundiced view o' history.
