Does anybody have a current Blue Book of gun values? The pistol is a solid 9. Very minor finish wear. No nicks dings or scratches. I would be surprised if more than a couple mags were fired through it. Thinking of trading for a blue round top Delta,or like condition blue 70 series Combat Cmdr,or Ltwt Cmdr in 45acp. Am I way off base here?

The reason Im thinking of trading is because Im not that familiar with this caliber, and gun combo. I am very familiar with the 1911 when in 45acp.USMC distinguished, but that was years ago.I keep reading and hearing that the super would need a steel recoil block and feed ramp, to get any type of long service life. With all the other things I want to do to have a carry gun the way I want, Im not sure I want the extra cost involved. Having had a Cmdr in 45acp I feel comfortable in building one that that I know will last.

Try the .38 Super and I will think you will like it. (Don't think another 50 rounds will change the value but ....) I found a steel commander .38 Super and it's my favorite 1911. Mike

I forgot, makes a good base for a 9x23 too!

If you are concerned about the feed ramp, et talk to George Smith about a steel feed ramp insert. George Smith, Doylestown Pa.
