i had the dipleasure of owning a first gen sigma in .357 sig.alls i can say is the gun was a majore disapointment.2 trips back to smith n wesson for failure to fire(hard trigger)fixed it twice myself after that and finally after an accedental discharge, got rid of it for 125 bucks and was glade of it.
when i fist bought the sigma i feel in love with the grip(perfect)and simplicity of desighn(very much like a glock except it would never shoot more than 1000 rounds in the 2 years i had it).
any how i have been looking at the newer generation sigmas(very cool)but i am very reluctant to be ripped off again.have they really improved this gun or is it a cosmetic makeover?
fool me once shame on S n W,fool me twice shame on me!

Welcome aboard Scoop,

I own an SW40E, purchased about 18 months ago. I have never had a problem with it. I carry this piece every day and trust my life with it. If you're interested, check out the S&W forum, there are a few of us over there who have good things to say about it. Do your own research and see if you can try one out. Best of luck.

I've got two Sigma's; a 9MM and a .380. Both have been absolutely flawless including Cor Bon 90gr 9MM. I've heard of all sorts of problem, of course, and believe them, but I've done just fine with my two.

I don't have any personal experience with Sigmas. They certainly have a stinky reputation, though. The only thing I'd throw out there is that it has the worst derisive nickname of ANY firearm I've ever seen. Drum roll...

SMEGMA. :barf:
