These are available on the market right now in pretty good shape. Has any of the gunsmiths seen one of these? What is your opinion as a pistol to add sights and trigger to?

Thanks for your opinion,
Bill

These guns are old, I mean old old. Good condition means they might be useable but probably not. You can get one of these old clunkers cheap and then spend a bunch of money on them and still have an old clunker that you spent a lot of money on that aint worth what you put into it. Get something that will at least have some value to it when your done. If you could get one that works ok without spending a dime on it maybe use it for a backup or tackle box but thats about it in MNSHO.

On the contrary, the 1927 Sistema is a great gun to use as a platform on which to build a custom shooter. We have three of them and I'll put any of them up aganist whatever you name. In all three cases the only original parts used were the slides and frames and you can't buy a slide and frame for the price we paid for each gun at 250.00.

Well if have to disagree, you can buy a Caspian frame and slide for very close to $250.00 and there is no comparison in quality. Ask the good pistolsmiths on this forum if they would even build a gun on one of those old frames.

That's right...I'm old, so I NEED all those old frames and slides! In fact, I'll take all I can get!
