ATTENTION: CHIEFS OF POLICE, SHERIFFS, AGENCY HEADS, FIREARMS
INSTRUCTORS, ARMORERS AND TRAINING OFFICERS.

The Massachusetts Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors' & Armorers'
Association is proud to announce that it's Annual Instructor Development
& Training Conference and Law Enforcement Expo will be held on October 16
- 18, 2001 at the Devens Reserve Forces Training Area (formerly Fort
Devens) in Ayer MA.

The Law Enforcement Product Expo is scheduled for 10AM to 6PM on Tuesday,
October 16th. Attendees can come in, register for the Conference, get
their housing squared away and then visit the Expo, which will have
manufacturers and dealers of law enforcement firearms training equipment
available for your inspection and evaluation. Product demonstrations
will take place all during the Expo as well. Conference seminars will
start in the afternoon. Tuesday evening, the Conference will continue
with a panel discussion on current trends in law enforcement firearms
training.

THE CONFERENCE

Topics for the Conference will include:
Rapid Deployment to Active Shooter Incidents, Patrol Rifle, Less Lethal
Munitions, Short-Barreled Handguns, Down/Disabled Officer Drills, Police
Sniper related issues, Audiovisual Aids for Instructors and more. Many
of these courses will be live fire courses, so instructors will get to
shoot, as well as learn.

THE INSTRUCTORS

Instructors for the Conference include, Paul Cooper, Chelmsford PD, John
Peterson, SigArms Academy, Tpr. Mike Conti, Mass State Police Firearms
Training Unit, Sgt. Ed Gross, Keene NH PD, Capt. Mike Boyle, NJ Fish &
Games LE Division, Matt Temkin, NY State Courts, Off. Len Simicich,
Palisades Parkway (NJ) PD, Marty Michelman, Suffolk County Sheriff's
Department, Chief Ron Glidden, Lee MA PD and more.

WHO MAY ATTEND

Registration is open to all MLEFI&AA Members who are sworn officers, and
to non-member officers who are bona fide law enforcement officers
assigned to assigned as firearms instructors or armorers by their
respective agencies.

THE EXPO

The Law Enforcement Product Expo will have police equipment manufacturers
and vendors from across the country present to show off the latest in
firearms, ammunition and training technology. The Expo is open to any
sworn law enforcement officer who wants to see the latest in firearms and
training technology. Admission to the Expo is free, but attendees must
show a badge and valid police ID in order to be admitted. Chiefs of
Police, Sheriffs, Agency Heads, Firearms Instructors, Armorers' Training
Officers are specially invited to attend.

THE DEADLINE FOR CONFERENCE REGISTRATION IS OCTOBER 1, 2001.

A completed registration form and payment in full must be received no
later than October 1st in order to guarantee a spot at the Conference.
There will be no walk in registrations. Cancellation of registration and
requests for refunds must be made in writing no later than October 1st.
If written notice of cancellation of registration is received prior to
September 15th, there will be an 80% refund. If such notice is received
after September 15th, but before October 1st, there will be a 40%
refund. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER OCTOBER !ST.

HOW TO REGISTER

Conference Registration applications and additional information may be
obtained by going to our Association web site at
http://www.mlefiaa.homestead.com/homepage.html and clicking on the "Conference"
button. At present we cannot accommodate on-line registration, so you
must down load the form. Or you may call our Association voice mail
number and leave your name and address, and a registration form will be
sent to you by mail. Complete the form, attach your check for the
Conference Registration fee, and send it by mail to:

Detailed information about housing on base, equipment and ammunition
requirements, etc. will be sent out with your registration confirmation.

Our previous Conferences have been very successful, and this year's
Conference promises to be even more so. The number of open slots is
limited, so sign up today.

With about a week left for registrations, we have less than 30 opening for our October 3 day l.e. firearms training conference.

The MLEFI&AA training conference was a geat success with 110 registered attendees. We are now planning the conferences for 2002 (1 day) and 2003 (3 day). Check out our web page at
