Over the past year I began collecting the USP pistol series (what HK collector would not?) and I have noticed wide variances in my experience with each model both psotive and negative. I am interested in hearing from other shooters of the USP series on any model, what do you like? hate? wish to see?

I love the accuracy of the USP .45. Don't like the trigger, but I can live with it. As a matter of fact I dislike the trigger on most of the USP's that I've shot.
I didn't like the "snappy" recoil of the USP .40. Traded it and five pre-ban mags for my first P7M8 and love it.
No opinion on the nines.

Overall, I like the full size in .45 the best.

I have a USP compact 9mm.

It had a bad DA trigger pull from the factory. Sent it back and they did a wonderful job smoothing it out. Best DA trigger I have now. Got it back in exactly 6 days , door to door.

I like the grip circumference far better than a Glocks. Grip angle is good. The magazine release works very well for me. I like the way the magazines just sort of shoot out of the gun when you want.

I don't like the profile of the safety lever. Causes me a bit of trouble while shooting high thumbs. Always worried about decocking it under recoil.

Sights are servicable but could be better.

The accuracy of the gun is very good. Recovery from recoil is easy.

Mine doesn't have the built in lock, and they did not install one when I returned it for service. I thought that was nice.

I really enjoy shooting my Tactical 45. It came with the factory "match" trigger. The sights are very easy to pick up and accuracy is outstanding. The gun is much more accurate than me. I haven't had a chance to shoot the pistol with the CCF vortex flash suppressor. My USP9 full size is almost as accurate. I have one of the first ones so the trigger group cannot be upgraded. The USP45 Compact is about as accurate as the USP9 with the shorter sight radius. I like the USP's because they're similar to the 1911 WRT to being able to be carried cocked and locked. And last but not least, the P7M8 is probably the most accurate 9mm pistol I've owned.

Most USP full size can have the match trigger upgraded. It's a fairly simple process if you're mechanically inclined.

Greetings all, I just heard about this site thru tactical forums.
I have a full size and compact USP45's. I like the full size better. I get a little better accuracy out of it. But I also like the smallness of the compact.
I have had no problems with either and both have taken whatever ammo I've fed it.
Overall, I'd vot for the full size.

For all you collectors out there, I am in the process of getting out of the collecting business. Just sold the HK 93, the HK 91 has a buyer, BUT I still have a sequentially numbered pair of HK Tacticals NIB. Both come with 5 mags each (total of 10). The price is $2000 for the pair and I will NOT split them. I know this belongs in the for sale area, but thought I would put it here instead. They are listed on the HKPRO site, The Firing Line site and HK91.com site. So, if anyone is interested, drop me a line.
